TeachingMY STUDENTS
I am originally from central Illinois, which is hardly a hot-spot for dressage in the U.S. When I decided to really pursue my riding education I knew I'd have to leave home. I lacked extensive funding, so becoming a working student was the most logical way for me to get my education. All told, I spent almost 3 1/2 years as a working student with three different instructors and got a great education. I had to move for each of these positions, and often the students weren't willing to give up their education just because I moved to continue mine. The solution? Clinics. For the first two years I was gone, I went home to Illinois to teach regularly. I get requests for lessons whenever I go home now, but as most of my original students are currently away in college those clinics have diminished. When I moved from GA to PA once again students demanded to grow their educations with me, so I go there every 6 weeks and teach. I began brainstorming for this web site, and knew there was no way to create an accurate picture of me from just my perspective so I put out a request for photos and feedback from my students.
